5 Gits Under $20
It’s that time of year again. Christmas! My favorite time of year. For real.
I’ve outlined how I budget for Christmas shopping already, you can check that post out here, but people love lists. So I thought I’d list out a few of my favorite gift ideas while still staying on a budget.
Now, I hope this doesn’t come across as I’m cheap when it comes to gifts. I’d say, far from it, but there is something to be said for more meaningful gifts instead of just spending money on people to spend money.
Here is a list of some inexpensive, yet thoughtful gifts I’ve given or received in the past. All are under $20!!!
Obviously, this doesn’t have to break the bank as books are usually pretty inexpensive. But anytime someone says they picked up a book specifically because they really thought I’d like it, I love it even more. Add in a fun novelty mug and some hot chocolate or tea and the book becomes more of an experience than just an item.
Around the holidays, throw blankets are in abundance at places like TJMaxx and Homegoods. And they’re often inexpensive gifts. But winter (especially in the midwest) always has me wanting to curl up in front of a fire to watch the snow or a Christmas movie or to read a book. A soft, luxurious throw just adds to the experience.
Do you know what I’m talking about here? I love getting mason jars filled with lentils and spices and instructions to just add broth for a warm, cozy meal. Or jars filled with oats and chocolate chips and a step-by-step note to add in some eggs and butter for ooey-gooey chocolate chip cookies. Gifts of food at the holidays signify love to me and you can make a handful of these jars for all your BFFs this holiday season without breaking the bank. Who wouldn’t want this Chai Tea mix for Christmas?
No, this does not have to break the bank! I’m telling you! Have you been on Etsy lately? There are so many amazing pieces of jewelry on that site, all for a steal. And it’s all so unique and adorable you will definitely find the perfect piece for your sister, friend, or co-worker! I could spend hours just scrolling through all the different options. Check out this cute bracelet, these adorable earrings, or this pretty pendant!
I mean, come on. Who doesn’t like booze as a gift? I love, love, love to head to a local winery around the holidays and pick up a mixed case of wine. Whenever I need a quick gift or hostess present, I can grab a bottle from the case and head out without a worry. And when you buy 6 or so bottles at once, they’ll almost always come with a discount. Plus, if you don’t gift ‘em you can curl up with your blanket and book and indulge a little yourself!
Do you have a go-to gift you rely on? Have you ever really knocked someone’s socks off with a thoughtful gift? Tell me about it in the comments!
